AdmiralCloud offers the highest standards of data protection. All our services are DSGVO-compliant and are subject to constant security checks. AdmiralCloud AG is headquartered in Berlin and exclusively uses German servers to store customer data.
Why Data Protection is Critical
Especially companies in highly regulated industries that process and store personal data as well as sensitive company data have to make sure that all guidelines of the GDPR are strictly adhered to when choosing their digital asset management. The GDPR stipulates how data may be processed. Access to data must always be regulated and controlled in order to exclude violations of informal self-determination and other misuse.

Servers Based in Germany
The data processing of AdmiralCloud exclusively takes place at the German data center of Amazon AWS (location Frankfurt). The CDN of AWS serves the fast worldwide provision of content – media to be delivered is therefore temporarily stored there (cache). For transcoding services, we use the data center of Hetzner Online AG near Nuremberg. We have concluded contracts with these service providers for commissioned processing pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR and, where necessary, standard contractual clauses within the meaning of Art. 46 (2) c) GDPR.
U.S. Access to Data
The CLOUD Act (2018) makes it possible for US companies to guarantee US law enforcement access to data, even if it is not stored in the US. This includes AWS. According to AWS, this does not affect AWS services (see https://aws.amazon.com/compliance/cloud-act/).
Nevertheless, it is possible to use service providers such as AWS.
After the discontinuation of the EU-US Pricacy Shield (cf. Schrems II ruling of the European Court of Justice in 2020), the conclusion of standard contractual clauses of the European Commission according to Art. 46 GDPR is necessary prior to the use of US service providers or the transfer of data. AdmiralCloud has concluded these with AWS. Furthermore, AdmiralCloud has taken all necessary measures to ensure that your data can only be processed in member states of the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA).
Confidential Handling of Data
All our operating procedures are designed in such a way that data entrusted to us is secured to the extent necessary in each case and protected from unauthorized third-party access. Confidentiality and secrecy have top priority and are core to our company ethos.
Deletion of Personal Data
We guarantee that personal data stored by the customer will be deleted after termination of the contract. The data will be disposed of in accordance with the latest methods of data erasure, as provided for in NIST 800-88 (Guideline for Media Purification).
